Cranberry Almond Smoothie with Yogurt

Almond butter can make a high-energy addition to your breakfast smoothie, according to “Smoothies: 50 Recipes for High-Energy Refreshment.” The nutty taste of almond butter pairs well with the taste of cranberries.

Cranberry Almond Smoothie with Yogurt

Place 1/2-cup 100 percent cranberry juice in your blender and add 1 or 2 Tablespoons of almond butter.

Add some other berries, such as blueberries or blackberries, for sweetness, as well as 2 or 3 Tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt.

Purée until slightly chunky. This smoothie supplies several grams of protein that should last you until lunch.
