The morning and evenings are cool, so it’s a great time of year to start baking again. A batch of these delicious cookies is just the thing to take off the morning chill and warm your home with a delicious aroma.
Oatmeal Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

Heat oven to 350°.
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups uncooked oats (either old fashioned or quick oats will work)
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup crushed walnuts
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the vanilla. In a separate bowl whisk the flour with the oats and salt. Add the oat mixture to the creamed ingredients. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Form into 1-inch balls. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
