November 1 “Save me a Seat!” benefit auction. Spectacular Event Center, 395 Griffin Road, Bangor; The Maine Highlands. The Maine Discovery Museum’s sixth annual gala- dinner auction, featuring over 75 artist-decorated-one-of-a-kind chairs, including children’s rockers, children’s Adirondacks, and “artist choice” chairs in all sizes, created by many of Maine’s finest artists from all across the state. November 1-16 Artist Books Invitational Features Maine Book Artists. Aarhus Gallery, 50 Main St., Belfast. Artist books with be featured from 20 Maine and Maine related artists who specialize in the “book” form. Bound only by the artists’ imagination and skill, from the intricate book brooches off Anne-Claude Cotty to the solid cast books of Cat Schwenk or, from the inventive bindings in wood, metal and found objects of Peter Madden. November 14-15 The Gifted Hand: Fine Art, Craft, and Gift Show- Ellsworth. A juried art and craft show featuring 50 artisan exhibitors from all over Maine. Pottery, jewelry, toys, fine art, fiber art, clothing, and more handcrafted by professional Maine Artisans for sale. Children’s book signings by area authors will be part of the day on Saturday. November 15 Tree Hugging-Embracing Family Genealogy: A Workshop for Beginners. November 28 Bethel Wares & Craft Fair. Bethel Inn Resort Conference Center, Bethel. 9am-4pm. Come for great holiday shopping the day after Thanksgiving. This is a true hometown craft and wares fair of locally handcrafted items including wood-working, quilted items, jewelry, photography, paintings, hand-knits, jams and jellies, maple syrup, baskets, and more.
