Held from noon to dusk at the Schooner Landing in Damariscotta, the Pemaquid Oyster Festival will features super fresh oysters from the Damariscotta River, along with some very interesting and unusual flavors to pair with them.
Among the choices of toppings will be: Lime-Sake Sauce from Swan’s
Way Caterers; Sea Bean Slaw from Primo Restaurant; Cider Mignonette
from Francine Bistro; Pico de Gallo from Amalfi on the Water;
Lemon-Leek Mignonette from Newcastle Publick House; Jalepeno Relish
from the Anchor Inn/ Damariscotta River Grill; Prosecco Preserved Lemon
Mignonette from Atlantica; Green Tabasco Mignonette from Augustine’s;
Lemon-Fennel Salsa from the Bradley Inn; Gourmet
horseradish will be provided by Morse’s Sauerkraut, and Schooner
Landing
will furnish Tabasco sauce and lemons. Salt Bay Cafe is brewing
up a surprise oyster topping.
The Festival will also feature musical entertainment, education, and
boat tours. Proceeds from the event benefit the Edward A. Myers Marine
Conservation Fund. Come and join in the festivities on Sunday,
September 28th, from noon ’til dusk.
